Milestone achieved for GenX

28 January 2026

entX achieved a significant milestone in 2025 with the installation and commissioning of a facility to prototype our GenX betavoltaic power systems.

Located within entX’s radiation facility at SAHMRI, the installation is centred on a highly configurable PVD system integrated into an atmospherically controlled nuclear glovebox, enabling sophisticated multi-technique coating and device fabrication in a high-level radiation environment.

This capability supports product and process validation and is intended to deliver mission-ready components for customer programs across space and defence applications.

The development of GenX is supported through our collaboration with Adelaide University and the CRC-P grant program from the Department of Industry, Science and Resources.
