
entX Completes Factory Acceptance Test for New ARMF Hot Cell System

A key milestone in advancing Australia's sovereign radioisotope manufacturing capability
entX has successfully completed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for a new Hot Cell system that will support the development of the Australian Radioisotope Manufacturing Facility (ARMF) and IsoMedica’s growing radiopharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities.
The FAT was undertaken at Comecer’s facility in Italy, with entX team members Alaa Hijazi and Bill Frank working alongside Comecer’s engineering team to verify the performance, functionality and specifications of the system prior to shipment to Australia.
The completion of the FAT represents an important step towards the installation and commissioning of the Hot Cell at the ARMF, where it will support the processing and production requirements associated with advanced radioisotope manufacturing.
Hot Cells are a critical component of radiopharmaceutical infrastructure, enabling the safe handling and processing of radioactive materials within highly controlled environments. Establishing this capability is a key part of entX’s strategy to build sovereign nuclear medicine infrastructure in Australia.
This milestone also highlights the strength of international collaboration in advancing next-generation healthcare technologies. Through its partnership with Comecer, entX is combining specialised engineering expertise with local capability development to support the future supply of critical medical isotopes, including thorium-based therapies.
As Australia continues to grow its role in nuclear medicine and targeted cancer treatment innovation, the ARMF will provide important infrastructure to support research, development and future commercial manufacturing capability.
entX looks forward to welcoming the Hot Cell system to Australia and progressing towards the commissioning of the ARMF.
